In Hawaii winter is the time Humpback Whales grace us with their presence. They migrate here to mate and birth their calves in these warm tropical waters.

While walking along the coast we witnessed this exuberant display. Two whales breached again and again looking as if they were leaping for joy. Finally they completed a simultaneous synchronized golden spiral breach which sent my heart soaring.

At the bottom of this painting are two rare Hawaiian Monk Seals playing in the waves.
